Bob was born and raised in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario where he met and married his beloved Dorothy almost 55 years ago. Together, through life’s joys and challenges they raised their family in Hamilton, where he gave 35 years of service to Stelco, retiring as a blast furnace mechanical foreman. Though he spent the last six years of his life without her, Bob kept his promise to Dorothy, to carry on for the sake of his children and grandchildren, even when illness had slowed him down. Dad will be forever lovingly missed by his son, Robert (Caroline) Armstrong and his daughter Kelly (Victor) Gudas and cherished always by his grandchildren Darren, Grace, Isabella, Maggie, Alexander and Logan. A private family ceremony and burial has taken place. Special thanks to the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital, particularly Dr. Allen, CCAC’s palliative team, the caring providers at Pro Resp and the wonderful neighbours on East 33rd Street.
