Robert William Kranstz

Husband of Donna, who shared 65 loving years of marriage with him. Bob and Donna met at the young age of 17 in Nova Scotia as he ported off the HMCS Cornwallis. Loving Father of Gail, Darlene and Richard. Devoted Grampa of Daniel, Sean and Samantha. Doting Great Grampa of Brayden, Logan and Sloane.

He was born and raised in Milton, Ontario with his 6 siblings Gordon (Olive), Verna (Stan), Barb (Fred), Eileen (Brian), Brenda and Larry. He was the son of Arthur Kranstz and Helen Springsteen.

Bob founded the Milton School of Jiu-Jitsu in 1974 and was a 9th degree blackbelt (2019) as well as a 3-time world champion (Senior Division over 40). He received many awards and achievements throughout his 60 years in Martial Arts including a place on the Milton walk of fame (2007) and induction into the Canadian Blackbelt Hall of Fame (2014), and Milton Sports Hall Of Fame (2018). He was also a long-time member of the Milton Legion where he loved to gather with friends and members on Saturday afternoons after a day of teaching Jiu-Jitsu.

He loved taking road trips on his Motorcycle with his wife, Donna and sharing the memories they made. His family and dogs were also everything to him. Both him and his dogs looked forward to their daily walks. He loved them hard. Family was always welcomed over with a big HELLO and a loving smile. You could feel the love he had for his family. The grandkids couldn’t leave without giving him a “great big grampa hug”.

A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held at Milton School of Jiu-Jitsu (310 Main St. E, Milton - Lower level) on Saturday, March 23rd, 2024, from 1:00pm-4:00pm concluding with a Celebration of his Life. Enquiries can be made at 905-878-1074.
