

Peacefully, with dignity and faith, Ronald was called to be with his Lord on Thursday, February 11, 2016 in his 86th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife Barbara of 42 years. Cherished father and father-in-law of Susan and Brett Polawski, and Charles and Michele Holman, of whom he was extremely proud. Adoring Grampa of Carl, Ben and Matthew. He is also survived by brother Jack (Lelia), sister Arlene (Susan), and sister-in-law Marion Dakin, and his nieces, nephews, and their families. Ronald shared a chapter of his life in retirement and companionship with his late wife Violet. Ron’s strength of character, wit, and integrity served as the foundation for his family and a guide for his friends. Ron was a founding member of St. Michael’s Anglican Church, serving his Lord in various ways within his Church family. He was awarded the Order of Niagara, recognizing his life’s commitment to God. As a RIA, he was employed by Stelco, National Paper Goods, Plax Canada, and TRW. Ron was an enthusiastic volunteer at the Hamilton Warplane Museum, sharing his knowledge and love of history with others. Although an avid Maple Leaf and Blue Jay fan, Ron’s greatest pleasure was being actively involved in his grandsons’ sports and music activities. Visitation at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Avenue East, on Tuesday from 7-9pm and Wednesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Service at St. Michael’s Anglican Church, 1188 Fennell Avenue East, on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 10am. Interment White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Donations in Ron’s memory may be made to St. Michael’s Anglican Church.
