It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sergio Zecchini, 84, on July 6, 2015 after a brief illness. Sergio was born in Gradisca di Spilimbergo, Italy to Olinto Zecchini and Gemma Lenarduzzi and immigrated to Canada in 1952 where he met his devoted wife of 56 years, Louisa. He was known for his hard work, his passion for sports, especially soccer and his favourite team, Udinese. He loved playing bocce and cards and enjoyed many a whirl around the dance floor. He would never pass up an opportunity to share a good laugh and a glass of wine with his many friends and acquaintances that will remember him always for his love of life and a good time. In addition to his two brothers in Canada, Sergio leaves behind two brothers in Italy Derino and Elio, as well as many nieces and nephews on both sides of the Atlantic of whom he was very fond.
