Slavko Stern

With dignity and peacefulness on March 16, 2012 in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Maria. Loved father of Sonya and John Podrebarac. Cherished grandfather of Melany (Barry Miller), Melissa and Tim Gainfort and Anthony (Melanie Vucetich). Preceased by his parents Jakob (1985) and Alozija (1966) and his brother Stane (1945). He will also be lovingly missed by his sisters in law, brothers in law and their families in Oshawa, Slovenia and Germany. He will always be remembered by the friends that are considered part of his family, the Parklands family and the community family. Life long friend of Rudi and Maria Horvat. Slavko's commitment to helping people and his kind heart was bigger than his stature. Thank you to all of our family, friends, community, both in the area and in the medical field for your help, support, kindness and compassion. Visitation will be held at Markey Dermody Funeral Home (1774 King Street E., at Kenilworth) on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers at 8 p.m. Funeral mass to be held at St. Gregory the Great Slovenian Roman Catholic Church (125 Centennial Parkway North) on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Interment at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery. If desired donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
