Susan was a funny, well-read, and interesting lady who loved nothing more than to help the less fortunate. As a young woman, she fostered infants in distress, and later in life was beginning a career in nursing before being struck with chronic illness.
Born in Hamilton in 1951 to James & Colleen McAllister (nee Willoughby), she is survived by her brother Russell McAllister and sister Charmaine Nicholson, her sons William and Benjamin Bart, and her grandchildren Molly, Daniel, and James Jr. She joins her recently deceased daughter Brandie, her beloved foster parents Art and Rita Hagan, her two brothers Jim and Richard and her late husband, Doug, in the great hereafter.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 26th, 2024 from 12-1 p.m. at the Markey-Dermody Funeral Home,1774 King Street East in Hamilton, followed by a small service at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Susan’s memory be made to Martha’s House, care of the Good Shepherd (www.goodshepherdcentres.ca/services/martha-house)
