It is with heavy hearts the families take solace in knowing that he has rejoined his wife Irene, his parents Merle and Majorie Ryckman and brothers Warren, Keith and Edward. Fondly known as Earl, he and Irene travelled the world, spent winters in Florida and shared many adventures throughout their marriage. Earl was also an astute businessman and greatly contributed to the success of “Contractor’s Machinery” and its’ growth throughout Canada and the United States over three decades.
Earl enjoyed country and western music, playing hockey in his early days and watching a variety of sports on TV. In addition, he always looked forward to meeting up with the card gang for games on Saturday night and he especially enjoyed going out to a great restaurant. He continued to attend his nephew’s hockey games this past winter and spring and enjoyed every minute of the game! Earl was well versed in World War 1 & 2 historical battles and events. He loved a rousting political discussion! Earl’s departure from this earth will be greatly missed not only by many families and friends, but for the charity he extended to local hospitals and organizations he supported. Should you wish to donate in his memory, please consider the Canadian Kidney Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
In respecting Earl’s wishes, there will be no funeral. Cremation has taken place, and he will join Irene at White Chapel Cemetery. A celebration of Earl’s life will take place on Sunday, September 29, 2024 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Case United Church, 6180 White Church Rd. East, Mount Hope Ontario.
