

Vera’s story began on February 28, 1931, in a small village called Čaglić in Croatia. She was the second child of Katica and Pavao Sita.
Predeceased by her husband Slavko, parents Katica and Pavao Sita, sister Ankica, brother Petar, sister Ilona, and sister-in-law Olgica. Vera will be missed by brother Ante (Zdravka) living in Zagreb, Croatia and brother-in-law Vlado Kolozetti (Nada) of Wasaga Beach and their families, as well as other relatives in Croatia and Germany. Vera leaves an immense void in the hearts of her daughter Sanda Boric (Mike) and her son Krešo Kolozetti (Helen). Most loving grandmother of Tomislav (Mariana, deceased) and Sonya (Steven), Adam (Misty), Katrina (Ryan) and Dean (Desirea).
Vera was a loving great grandmother to adoring children Ante, Adriana, Katarina, Dean, Evy, Teigan, Quinn, Ben, Charlotte, Ella, Sophie and Arya.
The family expresses their deep gratitude to the Heritage Green Long Term Care Home for their compassion, care and kindness shown to Veronika throughout all the years. A special thank you to Mr. Scott Kazachenko, Sibo, Meagan, Marcy and Veronika’s special nurse Harppritw, as well as many other caring staff members.
Visitation will be held at the Markey Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on January 20, 2026 from 4:00-8:00 pm with vigil prayer at 7:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Croatian Church on January 21, 2026, at 11:00 am. Burial at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery on Mud Street in Stoney Creek to follow. Donations to Holy Cross Church would be greatly appreciated.
