Virginia "Ginny" Davidson

DAVIDSON, Virginia Thelma "Ginny" It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of a cherished Mother, Grandmother and best friend, at St. Joseph's Hospital on Wednesday, August 6, 2008, in her 82nd year. Loving Mother of Susan and Dennis Wilson of Dundas, Marilyn Davidson-Cowan and her husband Wayne, and Robert Davidson. Much loved Nanna to Ashleigh, Aaron, Andrew, Brent and Robert. Predeceased by her beloved husband William (2007). Virginia and Bill's courtship began at a Valentine's Day dance in 1943 and after many fun loving years of jitter-bugging and jiving, they were married on October 1, 1947. Virginia was a lifelong Hamiltonian, born on April 4, 1927. She will be fondly remembered as a loving mother, caregiver extraordinaire and a dedicated volunteer with the IODE. She enjoyed over 65 years of friendship with her "Girls Club" who celebrated her life in "Ginny's Garden" on this past Wednesday sharing many fond memories. Virginia will be greatly missed by her family, many lifelong friends and neighbours who will especially remember her caring personality and outstanding entertaining qualities for all those pool parties and events. Virginia was absolutely the finest Mother in the world, kind, loving and always just a phone call away. The family will receive friends at MARKEY- DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Friday, August 8, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, August 9, 2008 from 11-1 p.m. A Service of Remembrance will take place in the Markey Dermody Chapel on Saturday at 1 p.m. In accordance with Virginia's wishes, cremation has taken place.
