Reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife Thekla who he was married to for 52 years. Loving father of Elaine Silvano (Franco), and Katherine Benton (Miles). Proud grandfather of Julia, Emily, Victoria, Alessandra and Jessica; and great-grandfather of Olivia, Cruz and Myles. Wayne is survived by his brother Howard and will be reunited in heaven with his parents Frank and Beatrice Soar, sisters Margaret Savelli and Joyce Vaughan, and brother Gordon. He will be sadly missed but forever remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and close friends.
Wayne was born in Hamilton, enjoyed watching and attending Tiger-Cats games, and was often pointing out which stores and restaurants used to exist in the Downtown core. His faith was very important to him and was a dedicated member of Regina Mundi Parish. He was a dedicated Ford employee at the Oakville plant and retired after 30 years. Wayne’s passion for gardening could be seen in his meticulous lawn and him spending all day outside. He will fondly be remembered for his love of Halloween and Christmas; decorating and dressing up in costumes to bring joy to others.
Special thanks to the caregivers and staff at Ressam Gardens who supported Wayne.
