Bill was the loving father of the late Russell William, Shawna (the late Ron Thompson), Michele (Dean Fletcher) and poppa of Tori. He was boastfully proud of the strong, independent and hard working women in his life.
Bill will be missed by his siblings and their families: the late Barbara, the late Eileen, John (Sharon) and Heather (John Ackers).
Bill was the life of the party and always had stories to tell. His favourite memories were of family gatherings and stories of his time in marching bands as Fifer/Drum Major for the Queen's York Rangers (1st American Regiment) R.C.A.C. and the Derry Flute Band. Michele and Tori would eventually march in his footsteps. After retiring from many years in sales for the meat business, he moved from the city to enjoy life on the farm in Grassie where he was caretaker for many horses, finding a new passion in life, closeby to Shawna. It is here that he met his faithful furry companion "Jack" who he adored. Bill will be fondly remembered for his styled appearance, booming voice and lasting hugs.
A special Thank You to his nephew John Tetrault, friends Harry & Etta, Kenny, Stu and Carol Coke for all of their love and support. To his Legion Villa, Smithville friends who made sure to stop by and tell us what a good neighbour Bill was. Thank you to Dr. Bellaire and the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital staff for keeping Bill comfortable.
We invite you to celebrate Bill's life on Sunday, June 23rd from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m., sharing memories at 1:00 p.m., at the College Park Recreation Centre, 302 College Avenue West, Guelph.
