William Gibbons

Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Monica. Survived by family members, wife Inez, sisters and brothers-in-law Bette and John Panagas (Toronto) and Marian and Bill Moore (Benita Springs, Florida), sons Patrick (Joan), Tim (Ema) and Dan (Una). Grandchildren Billy, Danielle (Matt), great- granddaughter Isla. Born in Newfoundland in 1926, Bill went to work at age 13 in the family inland fishing business with the sudden passing of his Father. Bill moved to Hamilton in 1949. He worked Dofasco until his retirement in 1986. He was very proud of his Newfoundland roots and kept in close touch with friends 'back home'. Bill was an excellent carpenter and very proud of the fishing boat he built while a young man. He was a lover of anything to do with Newfoundland. He liked to cook, loved seafood, nice cars, music, friends and family. He was a devout Catholic. Special thanks to Dr. Alipio, the homecare crew, nurse Beatrice and staff at Juravinski Hospital. Family will receive friends at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME., 322 Fennell Ave. E., on Wednesday, March 23rd from 5-9pm. Funeral Mass will take place at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, 305 East 37th St., on Thursday, March 24th at 10:30am. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
