Mary Whiteleather Hansen, 88, passed on April 26, 2026. Born September 28, 1937, in Melville, New Jersey, daughter of the late Floyd E. and Margaret (Brennan) Whiteleather. Mary was a resident of Hampstead, North Carolina.
Mary was a retired elementary school teacher. In her younger years she enjoyed bicycling with her husband, and photography. Mary was also a long-time member of All Saints Catholic Church, Hampstead.
Mary is survived by her children, Dennis M. Hansen (Lynette), Thomas D. Hansen, Nona Reinagel (Peter), Mimi Cook (Cliff), 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, and her sister, Pegge Garriques.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Harry J. Hansen, III and her brother, Thomas Whiteleather.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Andrews Mortuary Hampstead Chapel, 17730 Hwy 17 N., Hampstead. Please enter off Transfer Station Road and come through the cemetery.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at All Saints Catholic Church, 18737 US-17, Hampstead on May 5, 2026, from 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Montford Landing Rd, Jacksonville.
