Annie Françoise Rutkoski of Hampton, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 4 at age 85. Born on July 3, 1939, Annie lived a life rich with humor, joy, and boundless love for her family.
Annie was the beloved wife of the late Bernard Rutkoski. She is survived by her loving sister, Monique Tranchant, and her three devoted children: David Rutkoski, Barbara Doherty, and Jacqueline Childress. Annie’s legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren – Michael Rutkoski, Barry Childress, Racquel Doherty, and Siobhan Doherty – and numerous great-grandchildren who will forever hold her warmth and wisdom in their hearts.
A loving mother and grandmother, Annie was the heart of her family. Born and raised in France, she lived throughout the United States and Europe before settling in Hampton with her husband and children, where she enjoyed a long career in civil service. She loved cooking, doing crossword puzzles, going for walks with her friends, and enjoying time with her family.
Annie’s spirit, marked by her wit, intelligence, and deep love for those close to her, will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
A celebration of Annie’s life will be held at a later date.
