She spent much of her life in New York State, before eventually settling in Hampton. She had a heart for serving others, and spent much of her time volunteering in soup kitchens, at the Salvation Army, and in the costume department of community theaters. When she wasn’t volunteering, she traveled the world with her husband of over 20 years, Robert Conary.
Family was everything to her. An accomplished seamstress and owner of two fabric stores, she made sure each of her family members always had a handmade quilt and unique Halloween costumes. Extended family vacations were one of her favorite pastimes, and she reveled in the planning of the itinerary. What mattered most to her though, was having everybody together.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents; husband, Robert; son, Brett Wentworth; and brother, Donnie Girardin. She is survived by her sons: Bruce Wentworth (Kathy), Brent Wentworth (Jeanie), Bryan Wentworth, and Blake Wentworth (Heidi); her siblings: Phillip Girardin of Alaska, Sylvia Ray of Florida, Dickie Girardin of Massachusetts, and Cynthia Snyder of Hawaii; her thirteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who adored her.
Barbara also had a passion for her animal friends, especially Willa, her 17 year old Chihuahua-Beagle mix, who misses her every day.
The family will be holding private services at a future date.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.parklawn-woodfh.com for the Conary family.
