

Lady Beatrice Ijeoma Onyeali was called home to be with the Lord on February 18th, 2022. Lady Beatrice was strong willed, full of life, and enjoyed her time with her friends and family. She had many nicknames with the most common being Sister B, Ms. Bea, Aunty, Beaty/Beauty and Mommy. She loved the color purple. She was also a devoted Christian and was studying to be a minister before her passing in Newport News, VA.
Lady Beatrice Onyeali, daughter of the late Sylvanus Aharanwa and late Patience Aharanwa, was born in the village of Umunahu Uratta near the capital Owerri, in Imo State, Nigeria. During her early years in Nigeria, Lady Beatrice attended Saint Stephens Primary School Umuahia in Abia State and CMS School in Egbu Owerri, Imo State. For secondary (high) school, she attended Girls Secondary School in Amaumara, Imo State. Lady Beatrice trained to be a teacher at the College of Arts and Science in Lagos, Nigeria.
Lady Beatrice Onyeali later married and moved to Chicago, Illinois in the United States. She started her nursing studies and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Valley State University, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She furthered her studies at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. She eventually left Michigan with her children and moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia. As a Registered Nurse, she worked at several of the medical facilities in the Hampton Roads area until she retired from Eastern State Hospital. She worked hard to help take care of her family in Nigeria.
Lady Beatrice Onyeali kept close ties with Nigeria while living in the States by being members of the Nigerian Women’s Association in Hampton Roads and the Ogene ndi Igbo Women’s Association of Hampton Roads, Virginia. She loved going to parties especially the Nigerian ones. She was also known to give freely by her friends and family and often took folks into her home who were in need.
As a member of Bethel Temple Church, Lady Beatrice Onyeali became a born again Christian and held annual Holy Spirit parties in her home to celebrate. She was a great evangelist and also held life cell group meetings in her home to point people towards Christ. Even when Lady Beatrice was working, she made it a point to go to church. On Sunday morning after working a 12 hour shift, she would come home, sleep for 1 hour, and start getting ready for church. She loved the Lord and also enjoyed doing mission trips overseas. She talked non-stop about her mission trips to Israel and China. She furthered her studies at Bethel College to receive ministerial credentials through the Assemblies of God.
Lady Beatrice Onyeali is preceded in death by her father: Sylvanus Aharanwa , mother: Patience Aharanwa, brother: Chimdi Aharanwa, sister: Comfort Anamelechi, sister: Juliana Onyewuchi, and brother: Oguchi Aharanwa.
Lady Beatrice Onyeali is survived by her daughter: Uchenna N. Onyeali of Virginia USA, son: Chima E. Onyeali of Virginia USA, brother: George( Adline) Aharanwa of Imo State Nigeria, sister: Charity Umeike of Imo State Nigeria, nephew: Tochukwu (Chijioke) Anamelechi of Washington USA, nephew: Okechukwu (Bola) Anamelechi of Washington USA, niece: Ihuaku (Obinna) Osuji of Nevada USA , niece: Grace (Magnus) Manuba of Maryland USA, cousin: Bernadette(Godson) Osuji of Texas USA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends around the world.

Funeral Services: Monday March 14, 2022 at Bethel Temple Church, located at 1705 Todds Ln, Hampton, VA. Viewing: 10am, Service: 12pm. Interment at Parklawn Memorial Park, 2551 N. Armistead Ave. Hampton, Virginia, to follow services. Repast: Following the interment, the family will share a private meal with family and close friends at their home.
