Belinda Sue Wingate Saunders, 66, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2015, from complications of liver disease. She was in born in Greenville, NC, but lived most of her life in Hampton, VA, where she graduated from Hampton High School. She was employed by the U. S. Postal Service for a while, and then held several different government positions at Fort Monroe.
She is survived by her brother, A. Bruce Wingate; sister, Liz Wingate Smitherman; granddaughter, Sarah Hope Saunders; sister-in-law, Candace Wingate; nephews, Fred Wingate, III, Rush Wingate, and Sam Wingate; niece, Leslie Wingate; several great nieces and nephews; and her very best friend, Kathy Nelson Steele.
She is preceded in death by her son, Wayne Saunders, parents, Ray and Estelle Wingate, and two brothers, Frederick Wingate, Jr. and Tony Wingate.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home.
