Betty retired from the Newport News school system and was a member of Hidenwood Presbyterian Church.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Cargill Johnson and five siblings. She is survived by her son, J. Cargill Johnson, III (Shelly) from Florida; daughter, Fran Johnson Auman (Bill); grandchildren, Will Auman, Jr. (Megan) and Beverly Auman; many nieces and nephews and a very close and dear family friend, Pat Staples.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 pm, Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, with a celebration of Betty’s life to begin at 2:30 pm. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
