Catherine Gillespie

Catherine was born in Nashville, NC on August 16, 1938. She graduated from Nash County Training School in 1956 and from there went on to receive a trade certification as a Teacher's Aide. Catherine worked many years in the Queens NY Public School System, the Financial District on Wall Street with Bankers Trust, and OIC Child Development in Rocky NC, where she was dearly loved and respected.

Catherine is predeceased by her husband, Johnny Gillespie and her two sons, Keith and Ali.

Catherine is lovingly remembered by her daughter Bonnica, son Jerome (Frances), granddaughters; Tianna, Valencia, Jasmine, and Chelsea, grandsons; Jamal, Darius (Lisa), Krys and Jordan, great granddaughters; Ivy, Ariah and Ivery, Aunt Emma Powell, longtime best friend Ruth Clanton of New York, best friend/spiritual sister Ola Mae McMillian of Maryland and a host of family and friends.

Catherine loved and enjoyed spending time with Jehovah. She was baptized on February 2, 2002 in Crownsville MD and became a member of the Landover MD congregation until she moved to Virginia and became a member of the Foxhill congregation until her passing. Catherine also enjoyed spending time with her family, creating memories, good food, reading and spreading the good news.
