

Born on August 17, 1935 in Isabella, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Charles Jefferson and Dorothy Pauline Ellis. Jerry graduated in 1955 from Nitro High School in Nitro, West Virginia. He had several different jobs throughout his life, retiring from the Local Union 540, Plumbing & Steamfitters in Newport News.
He loved visiting with all the grandchildren, listening to music, dancing, family trips to Tennessee, and friendships he made throughout the years.
Surviving members of his family include his wife of 59 years, Caroline; children, Charles (Duna), Christine (Siggi), Lisa (David), and Celia; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brothers, Tommy, Donald, and Joe. Preceding him in rest is his sister, Raynelle; and brother, David Ellis.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October, 9, 2014 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. Following the visitation, a service remembering Jerry’s life will be held at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Park.
