Born December 21, 1927, in Kinston, North Carolina, Charles was the beloved husband of Shirley W. Jordan, who greeted him in heaven for a long awaited reunion.
He is survived by his son, Charles R. (Chuck) Jordan, Jr. (Penny), and daughters, Cynthia Hagen (Jim) and Pamela Wilson (Garnett), grandchildren, Julie Daniels (Trey), Lisa Farrell (Rob), Chet Jordan, Leigha Wilson, and great grandchildren, Jacob and Ava Daniels and Emily and Ryan Farrell.
He retired as manager of the Engineering Research Department at Newport News Shipbuilding where he was proud to be involved in the development and design of aircraft carriers and submarines for over 38 years.
Our family would like to thank Dr. Brian McCormick of Hampton Family Practice who took such good care of our dad and shared his gift of compassion with our family during the last several months. We are also thankful for Cathy Eley and her daughters of Home Instead who so lovingly cared for our dad like he was their own.
Burial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 514 South Armistead, Hampton, VA 23669, where he faithfully served the Lord since 1979.
