He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Roberta Koons Schilling; his daughters, Sharon Ulmen (Patrick) and Karen Berg (Chris); sons, Gary (Roberta Hempstead) and Bradley (Amanda Bullard). He was Papa to thirteen grandchildren whom he cherished with all his heart: Jorgen (Jessica) Berg, Kari (Thomas) Rice, Kristina and Kelsey Berg; Shannon, P.J., and Torin Ulmen; Zachary, Haleigh and Austin Schilling; Charlie, Corinne, and Catherine Schilling; honorary grandsons, Jake Coleman and Faris Sleem; brothers, William and Jim (Deidre); sister, Nancy (Randy) Boggs; and numerous special nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will follow at 2:00 pm in the funeral home. Interment in Parklawn Memorial Park.
