

Deborah Faye Edwards, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 11, 2024 in Hampton, Virginia. She was 64 years old. Deborah was born on May 29, 1960 in Kinston, North Carolina to Patricia ("Pearl") Brewer and Lemuel ("Briss") Cotton. She graduated Kinston High School in 1978. Deborah married her lifelong sweetheart, Clyde Edwards, on December 8, 1979.
After traveling the world as a military spouse during Clyde’s service in the U. S. Navy, the couple returned to Kinston and started a family. In order to help provide for her family, Deborah worked alongside her husband at the Caswell Developmental Center in Kinston. She was a Healthcare Technician, and she was an integral and beloved member of the staff, retiring from Caswell after many years of service.
In her spare time, Deborah loved reading, playing cards, and cooking. She could always be counted on to bring deviled eggs, cakes, and laughs to any family gathering. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many and she will be deeply missed.
Deborah is survived by her mother, Pearl; her husband of 44 years, Clyde Edwards; her children, Tiffany Edwards and Clyde Edwards Jr.; her grandson, Kyler Leathers; her brothers , Frederick "Corn" and Deonko (Lanay); her sister Linda (John);her close sister-in-law Melissa (Rodney), and many aunts, uncles, in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and other family members.
Deborah was preceded in death by her father, Lemuel, and by her brothers Gregory and Rodney "Pie".
