Debbie was born June 26, 1954, in Tarboro, North Carolina; but grew up in Hampton, Virginia, spending lots of time as a teenager helping her Dad (Dwight Garth Stalls I) at his service station, Wythe Esso. After high school, she went to nursing school, and spent many years wrangling her family across the world as a military wife. In her “free time,” she was a geriatric nurse; model; she owned her own business; was a radio personality; worked with her Mother, Doris (nee Oakley), on endless craft and upholstery projects; she was an artist and an author; a Mom for foster puppies, and finally retired in sales.
She loved animals; all kinds of music; nature – especially her flowers and plants, birds, butterflies, and rainbows; she got excited over anything “sparkly;” she could whistle loud enough for the entire neighborhood to hear; and above all else, she adored her friends and family. She remembered everyone’s name; was always supportive; and would do absolutely anything she could for anyone who needed it. She was a “Mom” to everyone, in every sense of the word.
Included in the many who knew and loved her: she was blessed with six children: Frank, Jenny, Jeremy, Tristen, Kevin, and Faith; she was “Omz” to her four grandchildren: Brendan, Natalie, Xavier, and Voltaire; a brother, Dwight, and sister-in-law, Kristi; nieces, Sierra and Karen; nephews, Dwight (“Pete”) and Colton; great nephew, Dwight; and great nieces Celeste, Vivienne; and her best friend in the world, Baby Roy (Moon).
The family sends a very special thank you to all of her Friends at the Riverside Cancer Care Center.
