Dixie was preceded in death by her mother Alma and father William West, brother Stanley, and sister Darlene.
Dixie grew up loving music and dance. That is how she met her husband of 63 years, Eugene. He was in the Air Force when they met, and although they didn't travel overseas, they were stationed in Hawaii for 6 years, later heading to New York State, and finally retiring in Virginia.
Dixie always raved about the years she spent in Hawaii and all the dishes that she learned to cook there. Cooking was another one of her great skills, Dixie loved making everything homemade for her family.
As a woman before her time, Dixie was a real spitfire and always spoke her mind. She had a keen sense for sales as a Tupperware manager; she could sell a ketchup popsicle to a woman in white gloves.
Left to cherish her memory is her Husband Eugene, daughters Regina Kubyako (Nick) and Cherie Doucette; five grandsons Chad Bell (Tina), Andy Kubyako (Lisa), David Hamilton (Miranda), Aubrey Hamilton (Ericka), and Brook Hamilton; six great-grandchildren Breann, Amber, Ashley, Katie, Leia, Reid, and (another on the way) Lorelei; and one great-great-granddaughter, Leigh. As well as too many grand dogs to count.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetic Association in her name.
