She was born on August 16, 1932 to Pearl and William Brown. Doris grew up in South Carolina, and started working from a young age, picking peaches and cotton. Doris met her husband selling hotdogs. Her husband was a proud member of the United States Marine Corp, and Doris was a proud USMC spouse, and raised her family while William was working.
Doris leaves behind her son and daughter along with three brothers, four grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Her family was so blessed to have her as a wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a blessing to everyone she met.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday March 17, 2026 from 5 PM to 7 PM at Parklawn Wood Funeral Home, located at 2551 N. Armistead Ave, Hampton VA 23666.
