She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Emily was a native of North Carolina but lived in Virginia most of her life. She was a devoted and active member of Providence Free Will Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and the Gadabouts. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved reading anything by Debbie Macomber, cross stitching, crocheting, crafting with her granddaughters, cookouts, thrifting, taking long scenic rides, and reading her Bible.
Emily was one of the kindest and most giving people you would ever want to meet. She loved unconditionally and gave her all to everyone. She always saw the good in a person even if they didn't and forgave when others wouldn't. She was truly the epitome of what a Christian should be. Emily was all these beautiful things and so much more, but most of all she was our mother, our hero, our safe place our mentor, and our friend. She may not be here with us physically, but she will be in our hearts forever.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Charles Stephan Beavers.
Left to cherish her memories are her sister, Elsie Godwin; son, George Bailey; daughter, Lori Carrier (Kevin D. Carrier); grandchildren, Jessica Carrier, Krystina and Michael Lupton, Kevin and Tiffany Carrier, Michael and Briana Carrier; and four great-grandchildren, Charleigh, Crystaleigh, Lincoln, and Cyrus.
A celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Providence Free Will Baptist Church, 731 Little Back River Rd, Hampton, VA 23669.
