She was born in Pittsylvania County, Virginia on April 11,1934 to the late Muncy McCoy Towler and the late Irene Goard Towler. In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by a daughter, Teresa Ann Hall; grandson, Chris Hall; husband, Jack Hall Sr.; brother, Carroll Towler; and two sisters, Frances Bradsher and Betty Turner. She was also pre-deceased by her second husband, Burnie White.
She was raised in Danville, Virginia and attended the North Main Pentecostal Holiness Church where she met and married her late husband Jack Hall Sr. As a military wife, she lived in California before finally settling in Hampton Roads, Virginia. She proudly completed her college education after raising four children and while working as a manager at Gambro, Inc. in Hampton, Virginia.
She is survived by one daughter, Deborah Chappell (Wayne); two sons, Jack Hall, Jr. (Jennifer) and Gregory Hall (Roxanne); Stepchildren, Ray (Nina) and Karen White; eight grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Kathy Gauldin of Danville, Va.
Jean was passionate about serving her Lord and loved attending the Bethel Temple church. She was a wonderful, loving mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She also enjoyed being with her friends, going to the gym, and walking along the beach.
She will truly be missed by all who knew her. Although she's gone from our sight, she will never be gone from our hearts.
The family will receive friends 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM, Friday, February 3, 2023 at Hampton Memorial Gardens Chapel, 155 Butler Farms Road, Hampton, VA 23666, followed by a celebration of Emogene's life at 2:30 PM, Friday, February 3 in the chapel. Entombment will be held at Hampton Memorial Gardens.
