I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.  I only knew of your father through stories my dad, Marvin Olson, your dad's brother remembered and told us of their childhood and teenaged years. Keith and Family, so sorry to hear of your father's passing.  He certainly was a fixture around Hampton for many years and these last years keeping watch around the shop as always.  He will be missed by many! May you find comfort in your memories and the knowledge that he is now surrounded by family and friends that he has missed and is at peace.

Momma sent me Ernie's Legacy link and I was sorry to read about his passing. But as I watched the slideshow of photos I found myself with a big smile on my face as I started to recall some awesome memories of Jean and Ernie and the Olson Boys on Dare Avenue!!!

I'll remember Ernie for the way he always just let things roll off of his back without getting bothered by the nonsense as well as for being a solid family man. He wasn't a huge talker like Jean but it was obvious she and the boys were Ernie's priority and he worked very hard to take care of them. It is no surprise to see several generations of Olson's surrounding him in the pictures because they raised some great kids and this clan was always close. It's great to see some things never change.

Ernie had a family he could be proud of, even though there were times they would embarrass the heck out of him with their antics and all he could do was smile and shake his head! I can't recall ever seeing him mad or hearing him raise his voice and there were plenty of times he absolutely could have done both! Ernie just didn't let things get to him and was such a sweet man, and I have no doubt he will be greatly missed by his friends and loved ones.

I also have no doubt that Ernie and Jean are once again together and she's filling him in on all he has missed in heaven for the past 15-16 years! And maybe they'll do some more bowling with my dad, George, as the three of them patiently await the arrival of the rest of us as time passes.

But it's more than likely that Ernie will be tasked with reupholstering the King's throne, and then everything else in site once the next world sees  how great he really is. And Jean and my Daddy? I envision non-stop bickering about unimportant topics like the price of tea in China... while your daddy gets whiplash from doing a  whole lot of head-shaking at both of them!

May the countless memories you all have in your hearts and minds remain unchanged forever, and may they comfort you greatly when you need them the most!

My deepest sympathy to all members of Ernie's family.  He was a dear friend, as was Jean, and we always had a great time at the bowling alley.  Mike and my son, Tony, were close friends, so Mike was pretty special to me.  Peace be with you, Ernie.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Olson family during this time of sorrow.  Please find peace and comfort in Isaiah 65:17,21-24.

It saddens me to learn of the passing of "Big Ernie" and I extend my condolences to Mike, Keith, Troy, Kevin and "Little Ernie" and families.

I grew up with the Olsons and Mr. and Mrs. Olson always treated me like a son.  I always enjoyed going to their house and was amazed at the fine upholstery work Mr. Olson would turn out in his work shop at the back of his home on Dare Ave.

I remember the old truck Mr. Olson and Keith put so much work into and I still remember Mr. Olson's CB handle, the Auto Trimmer and let's not forget Mrs. Olson's, the Hampton Dodge Girl!

Mr. and Mrs. Olson raised a wonderful family and one they could always be proud of.  

I will always have fond memories of Big Ernie and his strong work ethic to do whatever it took to support his family.

Gone to be with his beloved wife Jean and GOD. My friend you will be missed.
