

She was born September 10, 1922 in Fowlkes, Tennessee to Rev. Fred R. Harper and Jessie Clark Harper. She had been a resident of Hampton since 1953.
Fanchon was preceded in death by her sister’s Opal Coggins and Suenell Poag; brother, Wesley Harper as well as her parents. She is survived by her husband, Willis Harris; children, Lois Taylor (John), Nancy Stacks (Joe), John Harris (Ann Marie), and Linda Morrisette (Roland); grandchildren, Jim Taylor (Darlene), David Taylor, Steven Taylor (Jennifer), Brent Stacks (Kellee) Alyssa Harrell (Hugh), and Casey Turchetta (Butch); 12 great grandchildren; sisters, Georgia Wolfe (Fountain Hills, AZ), and Joan McLain (Kansas City, MO); brother, Gene Harper (Memphis, TN).
She was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Hampton and Hampton Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed being a homemaker and was a very good cook. She and Willis lived recently at the Devonshire in Hampton where all were kind to them as were those who cared for her in her last days at Northampton Rehabilitation and Convalescent Center.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm on Monday, April 23, 2012, at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Fanchon's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, at the funeral home. Interment will at follow at Hampton-Veterans Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests contributions be made to St. Mark’s United Methodist Church or to the organization of your choice in memory of Fanchon Harris.
