Franklin was preceded in death by his parents, Edmond and Beatrice Smith; and his brother, Edmond Smith, Jr. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 33 years, Chong S. Smith; his sons, Randy Joe Smith and his wife, Kimberly, Martin Maxwell Smith and his wife, Kim, Franklin Harry Smith, Jr., and James Harold Smith; his daughter, Sherry Louise St. Marie; and three grandchildren, Samuel Franklin Smith, Laura Elaine Smith, and Ricardo Errol Smith.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 8, from 6 to 7:30 PM at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Franklin's life will be held Friday, July 9 at 10:00 A.M., at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk.
