Frederick H. Koss Jr.

Fred Koss, 88, passed away peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on December 3, 2021. He was a resident of Hampton since 1974. Fred is preceded in death by his wife, Kitty. He is survived by his sisters, Peggy and Mary; children, Frederick H. Koss, III (Geri), Randy L. Koss, Terry L. Roberson (Charlie); seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Fred served in the U.S. Army for 23 years until his retirement in 1975. He served as an Army Medic and served during the Vietnam War. After retirement, Fred worked at the VA Hospital before retiring full-time. After his retirement, Fred enjoyed volunteering with his close and dear friend, Norman Rush, with the Southeastern Correctional Ministries for many years. Fred was a very generous contributor to many ministries around the world. The family would like to thank Fred’s healthcare team at the VA hospital: Rhonda-PA; Robin-RN; his PCA, Dora, who had worked tirelessly beside him for the past ten months; and his close neighbors that were there during his time of need. Fred will be missed. The family will receive friends 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Ave., Hampton, VA 23666. A celebration of Fred’s life will follow at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Entombment with full military honors provided by the U.S. Army Honor Guard from Ft. Eustis will be at Hampton Memorial Gardens, 155 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, VA 23666.
