

Grover Carter Jr. was born to Blanche H. and Grover Carter Sr. on March 12, 1945, in Aliquippa, PA. He graduated from Aliquippa High School and later joined the United States Air Force in October 1964. Grover married the love of his life, Miss Donna R. Carter of Aliquippa, on June 4, 1966 and continued his service career as a Graphic Illustrator, retiring in June 1985. Grover started his own Photography business and retired, due to illness. He later worked as a security guard at the Air & Space Center, Hampton, VA. Grover was a faithful member of Soka Gakkai International (SGI-USA), a Buddhist organization, for 41 years, along with his wife, and touched the lives of many.
Grover leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife Donna; daughters, Angela White (Phoenix, AZ), and Rene J. Carter-Shorter (Newport News, VA); son, Grover Carter III (Hampton, VA); 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, James Carter (Barb); sisters, Gloria Stratton, Loretta C. Jefferson, Sheila Carter (John), and Viola Carter-Morris (Richard), all in Pennsylvania; aunts and uncles, John and Voila Howard (Houston, TX), Alvin and Addie Pace (Long Island, NY); devoted cousins, Albert and Libby Johnson (Williamsburg, VA) and many more cousins too numerous to mention; 7 sisters-in-law; and 8 brothers-in law.
Preceding him in death, along with his parents, are his mother and father-in-law, Alice Jo Fisher and Charles Carter Sr., and his sister and brothers-in-law, Myra and Ernest Burden and Charles Carter, Jr.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, Friday, January 9, 2015 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Grover’s life is scheduled for Saturday, January 10, at 11:00 AM.
