Gordon L. Duey, age 58, native of Wahoo, NE, died Saturday, August 14, 2010, after a long battle with cancer. Through this struggle he maintained his dignity, optimism, and sense of humor and never lost his love for life.
After graduation from the Air Force Academy, he served 20 years in the Air Force. Some of his fondest memories were flying low level early in the morning over desert terrain and his time spent stationed in Germany.
After Air Force retirement, he worked as a certified residential real estate appraiser. His other interests included the Boy Scouts-Order of the Arrow, UVA and Huskers football games, and serving his church. He was a former member, deacon, and teacher at Deer Park Baptist Church and a current member of Bethel Baptist Church.
He is survived by his parents, Douglas and Dorothy Duey; his wife of 33 years, Janet Duey; son, Jonathan Duey; daughter, Sarah Duey; sister, Margaret Chisholm (Richard); brother, Gregory Duey (Cheryl); and many nieces and nephews.
