A native of Windsor, NC, she had been a resident of Hampton, VA for the past 50 years. She was very involved in the church and will be remembered by many for her assistance at Christian Union Church as a Pastor's aide, greeter, usher, and for teaching Sunday school and bible study.
Jacqueline is preceded in death by her husband, Grady Askew; sisters, Ella Spivey and Fannie Spivey; and her brother, Willie Spivey. She is survived by her son, Larry Spivey (Janet); grandchildren, LaSheena Outlaw (Krystle) and Jordan Whitehead; brothers, David Spivey (Mildred), Richard Spivey (Elaine), Roy Spivey (Gloria) and Johnny Spivey (Phyllis); sister, Margaret Knight; and many other family and friends who will miss her dearly.
There will be a private Celebration of Jacqueline's Life on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at 2:00 PM. For those who will not be in attendance, it will be livestreamed on Parklawn-Wood's Facebook page.
