

He was born Oct. 16, 1937, in Wilmington, NC and served in the Air Force for 22 years. Following retirement in1982 from Langley AFB, Mr. Frost started a second career with the Virginia Department of Probation and Parole. He retired for a second time in 2003 as Chief Probation and Parole Officer for District #34. In addition, he served as a member of the Board of Directors for Langley Federal Credit Union from 1980 until 2008 when he was named lifetime member emeritus.
Two of Jack's favorite hobbies were fishing and supporting UNC Tarheel sports. He graduated from the University of NC in 1960 and played catcher for the 1960 ACC Champions and first UNC team to play in the College World Series.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Catherine Cromer and Lewis Rudolph Frost, Jr. He is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years, Dianne T. Frost; six children, Jim Frost (Judy), Susie Martin (Jimmy), Stuart Tripp (Lana), Melissa Forrest (Taylor), Missy Scott (Ken), and Anne Myers (David); nine grandchildren; brother, Lewis Rudolph Frost, III (Edna Lee), and sister, Elsie Mae Frost; and a host of loving extended family members.
The family will receive friends on Monday, Dec. 13, from 6 to 7:30 pm at Parklawn–Wood Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Dec. 14 at 11 am, followed by a graveside service at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
