

She was born on March 14, 1927 in Candor, N.C.. Jean was formerly employed at Century Lanes from 1969-1990 and was a member of the WIBC Division 1 Championship Team in 1982.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Jack P. Morton; her sister, Maxine R. Nelson; and her brother, Clay Campbell. She is survived by her son, Gary, daughter, Deborah, sister, Mildred E. Spivey of Ashboro, N.C. and numerous cousins.
The family would like to thank the following for their kindness and support during her illness: Krystal and Kim from Home Solutions; Karen, J.J., and Misty from The Newport; Marie Wilkins who cared for Jean over the past few months; and Dr. Kimberly Schlesinger.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, July 8, 2013 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Jean's life will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 9, at Parklawn Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the American Cancer Society.
