

In March of 2013, he retired from Northrop Grumman as a Software Development Engineer after a sixteen year career.
He retired from the United States Air Force where he obtained the rank of Major. During his military career he obtain numerous citations including the National Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Outstanding Unit Award, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Joint Service Achievement Medal, and the Air Force Commendation Medal.
Preceding him in rest is his father, John J. Houlihan, Sr. Surviving members of his family include his wife of thirteen years, Carol A. Houlihan; sons, John J. Houlihan III and Daniel E. Houlihan; step-daughters, Shelley L. Himes and Lisa Goodly; grandchildren, Mary Jane, Charolette, Kayla, Corey, Colleen, Kirsten, and Logan; mother, Catherine Houlihan; sister, Dorothy Luettger.
The family offers its deepest appreciation to Butch Garrett for his support during John’s illness.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. Following the visitation, a service celebrating John’s life will be held at 1:00 at the funeral home.
