

Reggie was born on June 12, 1932 in Lewiston, Maine, the son of the late Ralph Berube and Valeda (Dagneau) Berube. He graduated in 1949 from Lewiston High School in Maine. He later earned a diploma from the Maine School of Commerce in 1951 and a B.S. in Business Administration from the Hampton Institute in 1972. His studies were varied and even included computer programming.
Reggie met Dee through a mutual friend and the two were married on June 1st, 1957. They moved several times before finally settling in Hampton, Virginia in 1965.
Reggie served his nation honorably over 20 years as a pilot and Intelligence Officer in the Air Force, traveling across the United States and the Pacific. Reggie started his service pilot training in 1953. He served as a Transport, VIP, and Instructor/ Evaluator Pilot in various aircraft Including the B-25, B-26, Convair 440, C-47, C-119, C-123, C-131, T-6, and the T-28. His combat experience included French Indochina, 1954; Vietnam and Laos, 1962-1963; Intelligence - Vietnam, 1968. Reggie retired as a Major in 1971.
Reggie loved gardening and lawn care, keeping a pristine yard that regularly won awards in his neighborhood. He also was a skilled ceramist, crafting delightful figurines that brightened his home. Reggie was fluent in French and enjoyed doing extensive research of his family tree.
Reggie was also a devout Catholic and a committed member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Hampton, Virginia where he generously volunteered his time and support. He prayed every morning and every night, reading the bible daily.
Reggie will be remembered as a foundation of strength for his family, bringing everyone together from across the country.
Reggie is survived by his four children: Cindy (Berube) Fischler and husband Tony, Jody (Berube) Williams and husband Mike, Bruce Berube and wife Terri, and Tim Berube and wife Candis; eight grandchildren Dr. Tracy (Fischler) Graham and husband Jason, Danielle (Fischler) Smith, RN, and husband Dr. Trevor, Amanda (Fischler) Sipos and husband Kristian, Cody Williams and wife Emma, Thomas Williams, Aubrey (Berube) Scott and husband Mark, Brandon Berube, and Taylor J Nickens; seven great-grandchildren Owen and Jordan Graham, Charlotte and Nolan Smith, Luke and Isla Scott, and Annabelle Sipos; and beloved Chihuahua Daisy.
