Kathy was preceded in rest by her husband, Elmer D. Barney and parents, Wilhelm Müller and Anna Maria Desch. She is survived by her sons, Robert Barney and Nick Barney and wife, Trish; daughter, Betty Edmundson and husband, Jeff; grandchildren, Christy Grant and boyfriend, Kyle Riverbark, Kathy Matol and husband, Don, Jeffrey Edmundson, Tiffany, Nicky, Kevin, and Michael; great-grandchildren, Kailey, Nevaeh, Nathan, and Thor; and extended family, Susie Palmer and Tim and Lori Edmundson.
A visitation will be held at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home at 10:00 am on Thursday, February 9, 2017, with a celebration of Kathy's life to begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, Virginia.
