

Kenneth was loyal to his country and proudly served 22 years in the US Army, including conflicts in Korea and Vietnam. He retired from Fort Eustis, Virginia as a First Sergeant in 1972. He later worked as an auto mechanic, retiring due to disability in 1985.
He leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Frances Coffey; sons Jeff and Kenneth Coffey Jr. of Florida; daughters Alice Meyers of Delaware, Alisa Grogan of Hampton, VA, Tammy Forrester of Indiana, Catie Shingleton of Maryland, and Terri Fickes Yancey of Waynesboro, VA; a brother Carroll Coffey of South Carolina; a sister Janet Jones of Roanoke, VA; 20 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Clark, and 3 brothers, Boyd, Wayne, and CM Coffey.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, August 12, 2012, from 4 to 6 pm at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Monday, August 13, 2012, at 1 pm. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association , American Heart Association , or American Cancer Society .
