I worked with Larry for a very short time at Parklawn but he was definitely the guy to go to with the answers. He was helpful and looked out for you if you were new. Once he got to know you, he was always laughing and cracking jokes. A kind hearted man with a feisty spirit and a southern drawl...we will miss you Larry!

I had the privilege of working with  Larry for many years when he would help at our Nelsen Funeral Home. He was always so cheerful and loved to chat about anything any everything. He didn’t treat us any different than his home funeral home at Parklawn. We will truly miss seeing him pull up in the hearse, ready to help. I know it is a huge loss for your family, my heartfelt condolences to you. 

I met Larry years ago and always looked forward to working with him. He was extremely dependable and always had the best attitude about whatever he was doing. Larry was from a time when your word  and a handshake was enough. We spoke often about the "good old days". The thing about Larry however, was that whenever around him I always felt like the good old days were back. If we just had a few more Larry's in the world, it would be a much better place. While he's gone much too soon, he'll never be forgotten. 

Mr Larry was like a work grandpa to me, he taught me how to do thinks along with my work partners and he always made sure to always brighten the day with his jokes, smile and his aura. He was always willing to share and never had an issue helping you out if you needed. This will forever leave a sting but I am glad I got the opportunity to meet such an amazing person. Rest in peace Mr Larry. 


I worked with Larry for a year at Parklawn and am so glad I had the opportunity to get to know him and work alongside him. He always had a joke to crack, a honeybun to share, or the right thing to say. He will be greatly missed by so many and definitely made an impact on many lives. My deepest condolences go to his family and all who knew and loved him. 

Larry is not only a great friend, but a constant ray of sunshine, a helping hand, and a wonderful friend. I was lucky to call you friend, I was lucky to know you.

An outstanding friend for many years. He will be sadly missed. RIP Larry.

Larry was my first friendly face when I started my internship at Parklawn Wood. We shared laughs, jokes and snacks and he would always offer me a handful of hard candies before we started a service. No matter what kind of day we were having he always came in and made the best out of everything. 

I will never forget the kindness and grace he granted me. He always showed me the brighter side of things and tried to show me it was never the end of the world.  I will forever miss the random bag of chips or honey buns left on my desk after being off for the weekend or after coming back from the hot summer cemetery. 

I will always remember the great spots to catch a bite to eat and miss the random text messages from him telling me he was "in the neighborhood but they wouldn't let me in" due to the nonexistent invisible guard gate to my "gated community" neighborhood. 

There will forever be a hole in the hearts of all who knew Larry and I am so extremely sorry for this tremendous loss to you and your family Ms. Gail.


I had the honor of working with Larry for the last three years. We were in the service excellence training together for those first few weeks, and he made me feel so comfortable starting in a new field. He cheered me on as I eventually went to school to become a funeral director, and he always had the perfect thing to say that would take the stress off. He was so easy to talk to and get along with, and he knew somebody EVERYWHERE we went for services. This place will never feel the same without his smiling face, and the endless supply of honey buns, restaurant recommendations, and hilarious stories. He truly took a piece of our hearts with him. Sending love and hugs to Miss Gail and the family. 

I had the honor of working with Mr. Larry for the past year and half at Parklawn. When I first came on as a service associate, he was the first person to greet me and truly make me feel comfortable. He lit up the room and was the life of the party. He was a great listener, and an amazing friend. It won't be the same here without him. Ms. Gail, you are in my heart and prayers. 

I had the pleasure of working with Larry at Parklawn, and though I have only worked with him for a short six months, he was an amazing friend and colleague. 
He always lit up any room he walked into with his smile, jokes, and stories and was always there for you when you needed it. He was such a beautiful soul. My heart and deepest condolences go out to you and your family, Mrs. Eason.

I worked with Larry at Parklawn, and while I only knew him for a little over a year, he was a very dear friend to me. He made me feel welcome there and was a home away from home when things got rough in my own life. That's just the kind of person he was - it's probably why he was so good at his job! I'm gonna miss making coffee pots at the crack of dawn and going on road trips with him. Gail, you and your family are in the hearts of mine. 

I’ve known Larry since 1988 when my husband starting working with him at Langley AFB in the Personnel Office. He’s always been a smiling face and kind word whenever I’ve seen him over the years.
RIP Larry and know you will be missed by so, so many people.

Mrs. Gail and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Larry was so sweet, caring and reminded me of home. My husband is active duty so while stationed at Langley I met Mr. Larry and Mrs. Gail at the salon I worked at. I told Mr. Larry he was my Virginia Grandpa since I didn’t get to see my Georgia Grandparents often. I am praying for y’all!!

I was honored to have worked with Larry these last three years at Parklawn. He was my work bestie. You could always count on Larry to help anyway he could. He helped at events and even donating blood. No one can ever replace him!

Dave and I wish to extend our deepest condolences to you Gail, and also to your family. We have only known you and Larry for a few years from our mutual visits to Laura's Rise and Shine, but we have enjoyed seeing you both there. It is a place of comfort for us, and we enjoy sharing that comfort with others doing the same.  May you and your family find peace and comfort in your memories of Larry.
