Laurice Dail Becker

Laurice was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin Dail and Sallie Outlaw Dail, brother Kenneth Dail, and sister Doris Dail Swinson. She is survived by her husband, Col (Ret.) Allan R. Becker, her son Michael S. Becker of Seattle, WA, and three sisters, Diane Dail Dunn, Jan Dail McAllister, and Wanda Dail.

She graduated from Atlantic Christian College and later earned a Master of Arts Degree from Central Michigan University. In her early years, Laurice worked as middle school teacher in North Carolina, South Carolina, Hawaii and Izmir,Turkey. After moving to Poquoson in 1999, Laurice became a Master Gardener and was very active in numerous garden clubs including the York County/Poquoson Master Gardeners, the Hampton Roads Horticultural Society, the American Holly Society and the Poquoson Garden Club. Laurice also served as a volunteer at the Langley AFB Hospital.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 9th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 North Armistead Avenue, Hampton, VA followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. Interment will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, 4217 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen, VA 23060-9979.
