Leah was born on March 21, 1982 to Mark Staples and Frances "Deborah" Swain in Newport News, Virginia. In 2004, Leah went on to have one daughter, Naomi Staples.
Leah is predeceased by her grandmother, Naomi Burkett. She is survived by her father, Mark Staples; mother, Deborah Swain (Marty); brother, Jesse Staples; and daughter, Naomi Staples.
A private memorial service will be held for immediate family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Helping the Homeless.
