

Linda Keffer, aged 74, passed away peacefully in the presence of family on November 27, 2024, in Newport News, VA. Born on May 28, 1950, in Niagara Falls, New York to Charles and Dorothy Simpson, Linda spent her life dedicated to nurturing those around her, both through her career and in her personal life.
Linda graduated from Bradshaw High School in Florence, Alabama. After moving to Newport News, Virginia, she became best friends with Catherine Keffer and later married her brother Samuel Keffer III. She devoted herself to caring for others as a babysitter, housekeeper, and nanny. All roles that reflected her loving and nurturing nature of others.
Linda was a fun-loving individual who cherished the company of children and animals alike. She loved the youthful spirit of children because she was always a big kid at heart. She had a particular fondness for the Christmas season and could often be found enjoying the Hallmark Channel, which brought her much joy and comfort.
She is survived by her son, Samuel Keffer IV; daughter, Gina Coldwell and significant other Scott Haynes; grandchildren, Brandon and Breanna Coldwell, Kariann (Chuy) Hernandez, and Annsley (Will) Whitehurst; great-grandchildren, Julian and Christian Hernandez; James, Emi, and Henry Whitehurst, and Susie and David Padgett, niece and nephew. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Dorothy Simpson; her sister, Sylvia Rajac; niece and nephew, Lorie and Michael Rajac; and her beloved husband of 44 years, Samuel Keffer III.
Linda's life was one of warmth, generosity, and love. Her legacy of kindness and care remains a comforting memory to all who knew her. She was one of the kindest, most caring people anyone ever met, had a great personality and a wonderful sense of humor. She will be greatly missed, and warmly remembered as a Mom, Nana, Great Nana, and loving friend.
A Visitation will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday Services will be held by Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home on Wednesday December 4th at 2:00pm in Hampton, Virgina. She will be buried at Peninsula Memorial Park Cemetery in Newport News next to her husband.
