Maria Maribel Isabel Lopez

Maria served in the U.S. Air Force as a contract officer. She received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Western Florida, and a Master's degree as well. She was a member of the Sons of Italy, was a volunteer at the Fort Walton Beach Chapter of the DAV, and a member of the National Honor Society. She was quite accomplished and was also published in Who's Who of America for academic achievements.

Maria is preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Teodora Lopez Pena. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, Richard Fox, Jr. and Christobal Long; her daughters, Laura Fox, Elena Gully, Cristina Headrick and Susana Long; her grandchildren, Maribel Fox, Richard Fox, III, Chance and Aventine Gully, and Alana and Juliana Long; her brother, Julian Pena; her Aunt Kika; her Uncle Gonzalo; and her cousin, Beatriz; and many friends, all who loved and will miss her.

A private family service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Keyser of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to breast cancer prevention, detection and treatment.
