Marie M. Austin

Marie M. Austin, 68, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 27, 2019. She was a native of Hampton, Virginia and lived locally in Hampton Roads her entire life. Mrs. Austin was employed at the Newport News Shipyard as a Senior Designer and retired after 45 years of service. She was a member of Providence Free Will Baptist Church in Hampton and was active in the choir as well as teaching Sunday School.

She was preceded in rest by her husband, Gerald “Tim” Austin and grandson, E.J. Downing. Left to cherish her memory is her loving daughter, Tamara M. White and husband Chris; son, Michael L. Austin and wife Renee; sisters, Donna Stamey and husband Britt, and Diane Lawson; grandchildren, Kerry White, Allora White, Joshua White, Brittany Downing, Michelle Downing, Kailyn Austin, Kyilee Todd, and Isabella Austin; and joining us in June, Aurora Austin.

A celebration of Marie’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday February 1, 2019 at Providence Free Will Baptist Church, 731 E. Little Back River Rd., Hampton, Virginia 23669. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be offered to the church.
