She was born in Lynchburg, Virginia on November 8, 1937 and moved to Hampton at age 4.
Marie graduated from Hampton High School, Class of 1955 and went to work for C & P Telephone Company where she retired after 30 years of service.
Marie was an active member of the Telephone Pioneers.
She is preceded in death by her father, Anthony T. Ferroni and mother, Nannie Bradshaw Ferroni.
She is survived by her husband, James J. Crump (Jim) who she married in 1961; daughter, Cathy Crump Hurt; son-in-law, Pete Hurt; grandsons, James Haag and Shane Haag; brother, Anthony Ferroni and his wife, Christy; three nieces; two grand-nephews; and other extended family.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
