Marion Irene Griggs

Marion Irene Griggs ended her journey on Earth and went to meet her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 following an ongoing battle with kidney disease and heart complications. She was born in the mountains of West Virginia on September 12, 1933 and had been a resident of Hampton, Virginia since 1953. She is preceded in death by husbands, Lacy Ray Sneed (deceased 1955), Bert Griggs (deceased 2018); son, David Griggs; and daughter, Lisa McCleney. She is survived by her sons, Mike Sneed (Pam), and Steve Griggs (Teresa); sister, Nancy Roberts, six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Her granddaughter Amanda and great-grandson Randy resided with Marion. She is also survived by eight nieces and nephews. Marion was a caring wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother "Nana", and great-grandmother. Regardless of her role, she was loved greatly and will be deeply mourned and missed by family and friends. A graveside service will be conducted by Pastor Joey Hartman of Faith Outreach Church at Parklawn Memorial Park at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 28, 2021.
