She was born in the mountains of West Virginia on September 12, 1933 and had been a resident of Hampton, Virginia since 1953. She is preceded in death by husbands, Lacy Ray Sneed (deceased 1955), Bert Griggs (deceased 2018); son, David Griggs; and daughter, Lisa McCleney. She is survived by her sons, Mike Sneed (Pam), and Steve Griggs (Teresa); sister, Nancy Roberts, six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Her granddaughter Amanda and great-grandson Randy resided with Marion. She is also survived by eight nieces and nephews. Marion was a caring wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother "Nana", and great-grandmother. Regardless of her role, she was loved greatly and will be deeply mourned and missed by family and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted by Pastor Joey Hartman of Faith Outreach Church at Parklawn Memorial Park at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 28, 2021.
