Melba C. Holman, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 in Hampton, Virginia. She was a native of Columbus, Georgia and a resident of Virginia for 10 years. Melba was a nursing assistant for the civil service in the U.S. Army.
Melba was preceded in death by her first husband, Gordon Howard Williams; husband, Lee Holman; daughter, Vanessa Gale Booth; and parents, Walter M. Hardy and Emma Balkom. She is survived by her daughter, Sue Patsicostas; grandchildren, Thanos, William and Anthony Patsicostas, Cassandra Wilkinson, Robert, Jonathan, David, Peter-Philip, and Cheyenne Booth, and Victoria Booth-Schell; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Mollie, Richard and Veronica Booth; brothers, Mark, Wayne and Mack Hardy; and sisters, Eunis, Gwendolyn and Ruth Hardy.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 pm on Monday, January 28, 2013 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, with a celebration of her life to immediately follow, officiated by Pastor Larry Jones. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
